Everything we offer is to support your learning journey - welcome to our community

Open Studio Practise

This is our main offering at Amity & a rare experience in the industry.

Build your own personal practise in Pilates - a skill you can then take anywhere in the world.

Practise independently in a small group environment, with personal guidance and support from a teacher.

2 sessions/wk ($40/class)

3 sessions/wk ($35/class)

Students are required to commit to a minimum of two training sessions per week. This consistency ensures steady progress and prevents the loss of time, money, and momentum that can occur with irregular attendance.

The Loft - (Self practise space)

The practise of Contrology becomes most enjoyable and successful, when you can develop a flow in your movement from one exercise to the next, and you have a variety of apparatus you practise on.

This flow comes from repetition and frequency of practise.

To help make this affordable for our community we have created a seperate training space for unsupervised practise.

$25/wk (access up to 5 times)

Students must be attending a minimum of 2 sessions each week and be independent in their practise for access.

Online Video Library

Take your practise anywhere with you with unlimited monthly access to a range of pre recorded videos.

Explore fun flowing classes that teach you the connections we look for in classical Pilates & exercise breakdowns to get familiar with for next time you’re in the studio.

$25/month (unlimited access)

Videos are only available for current students.

Introductory session for new clients.

Come and see the studio and be taken through an initial session to see if this approach to practise is what you’re looking for before starting into your Open Studio sessions.

These sessions are also available for current clients to build their personal practise.

Frequently Asked Questions about Memberships

  • We aim to offer flexibility here for you, around sustainability for our small business.

Attending the studio is an acknowledgement that you are holding specific class spaces across each week & when you don’t attend, those spaces are empty (as we don’t offer casual attendance)

Most memberships are paid weekly via subscription or direct debit through our booking system.

There are no lock in contracts - you can cancel anytime.

A small amount of clients prefer to pay monthly (at the start of each month) which we can organise as well.

  • So that we don’t waste your time or money - prior to your introductory session - we ensure we have 2 or 3 ongoing spaces in Open Studio that will suit your regular weekly routine.

Once you’ve done your first session and you decide to continue, those spaces are then booked in your name, so that your ideal spaces are held for you each week.

So you don’t need to do anything but attend your sessions!

  • No, your subscription or direct debit will be placed on hold for you while you are away, and your spaces will be available for you when you get back.

If you’re paying by the month we can organise an invoice around your leave.

Being a boutique business with small class numbers, unfortunately it isn’t sustainable for us to “hold” spaces for longer than 6 weeks/ year *

*This is outside of normal holiday periods of Christmas & Easter or annual/sick leave when the studio will be closed.

If you feel you would be away more than this, this approach to practise is probably not ideal for you.

  • Your bookings are managed by you in our booking system.

We understand life happens and commitments come up. We aim to be as flexible as possible within the sustainable boundaries of the business.

You can swap or change your class times if you need to, and your regular booking will stay in place for the following weeks.

If ever you’d prefer to change your permanent booking - we can do that for you.

If you’re sick or unexpectedly miss a session, you have the whole month to make up your session - all credits expire at the end of each month.

To get a class credit you must cancel your class 24hrs before it starts otherwise you forfeit the credit. This gives time for other clients to use that space as a make up or swapped class - and is essential for the long term sustainability for our small business.

  • Unfortunately not.

It has always been a priority for us to make the practise of Classical Pilates as affordable as possible for our community over the long term.

Because we have minimal margins in place, we simply can’t absorb the loss when clients pay per session and then don’t turn up.

If committing to a minimum of 2 sessions a week & paying weekly or monthly doesn’t work for you, it may not be the right practise for you at this time.

  • The requirement of a minimum of 2 sessions each week is with your enjoyment & success and progression in mind.

This style of practise takes consistency and repetition to build strength, suppleness and create flow, growing in your practise. There is also a safety consideration in using the apparatus.

If you’d prefer not to commit to 2 sessions each week to learn to move independently - it would be best to attend a studio that offers casual classes led by an instructor.
